Developing Mathematical Reasoning: Avoiding the Trap of Algorithms
Join mathematics educators from across Idaho for a unique book study of Pam Harris's Developing Mathematical Reasoning: Avoiding the Trap of Algorithms. Together, we'll explore how to build students' mathematical reasoning, strengthen classroom discourse, and move beyond procedures to lasting understanding. The series begins with a live kickoff webinar featuring Pam Harris in September, followed by monthly collaborative discussions and classroom applications with colleagues from across the state. In March, Pam returns for a special closing webinar to celebrate what we've learned, reflect on classroom successes, and answer participants' questions. Whether you teach kindergarten or high school mathematics, you'll leave with practical ideas, a network of fellow educators, and new inspiration to help every student become a confident mathematical thinker.
